The Manager Microscopy and Microanalysis is responsible and accountable for planning and managing the operations of the RMIT Microscopy & Microanalysis Facility (RMMF).
The RMIT Microscopy & Microanalysis Facility (RMMF) is a college facility which provides high-quality electron microscopy and microanalysis facilities for research and teaching. It contains a suite of state-of-the-art characterisation instruments & techniques including electron microscopes, surface analysis and dynamic light scattering. In 2010, the RMMF was moved into new purpose built laboratories. It supports researchers from a wide variety of discipline areas. The RMMF is also a linked laboratory in the Australian Microscopy and Microanalysis Research Facility (AMMRF). Details relating to the RMMF can be found at www.rmit.edu.au/microscopy
To provide a high ranking Australian University research facility that provides high quality, operationally efficient and effective service to the researchers who use the facility.
Skills & Experience Required
You will have demonstrated experience in the management of an advanced instrumentation facility or department, along with experience in the management of staff, budgets and projects within an academic research environment. Your ability to plan and coordinate activities, prioritise workflow, monitor work performance and to assess and develop management processes to improve effectiveness will be essential to your success in the role.
