The University of Tasmania is working in close partnership with the Tasmanian Government to drive new economic, social and cultural futures for Tasmania and its citizens. The University College, officially launched by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull in October 2016, is a key component of this bold transformative agenda.

University College delivers two year associate degrees and enhanced workplace experiences for people who may not have considered higher education in the past and those looking to change careers, upskill or re-enter the workforce.

The University College Principal will lead the design and delivery of innovative workplace-focussed courses and provide thought leadership and expertise in the development of world-class pedagogical learning strategies. The Principal will engage with industry to identify emerging skills needs and ensure that courses are accessible, affordable and flexible for students as well as relevant and attractive for employers. The Principal is a member of the University's Senior Executive team.

The Principal will be a visionary academic leader with extensive experience and demonstrated success in creating distinctive educational options for non-traditional student cohorts.
