The University of Bristol seeks to appoint a Director of Business Development who will lead the development of partnerships across our health research portfolio with industry (pharmaceuticals, devices, advanced informatics).  A senior appointment, the role will span multiple faculties and will develop a 'front of house' for University business engagement in the health sector aligning to the University's Strategic Alliances Framework and drawing on major new funding streams including the UK government's Industry Strategy Challenge Fund.
 
We are seeking an inspirational individual with outstanding communication skills to influence and motivate both our academic community and industrial collaborators, in a rapidly changing and complex environment.  As Director of Business Development, the appointee will have a strong scientific background, and will have both a good understanding of academia and direct experience of working with or in industry.  The successful candidate will have an extensive track record of creating and implementing major academic-industry collaborations, and will have extensive contacts in the health industry at all levels.
