Situated within the College of Science, Engineering and Health, The School of Engineering came into existence on January 1, 2016 and comprises the previous schools of Aerospace, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering; Civil, Environmental and Chemical Engineering; and Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Established in 1982, the Vocational Training Council (VTC) is the largest vocational education, training and professional development group in Hong Kong.
This is a continuing teaching-focussed academic position with a minimum three year secondment based at VTC-SHAPE in Hong Kong. You will spend an initial period (up to six months) at RMIT Melbourne.
In this role you will be expected to actively establish and promote research activities in Hong Kong, building academic, industry and professional links. You will be required to undertake teaching duties at other locations, including Melbourne, Singapore and China.
You will foster and strengthen the RMIT-VTC SHAPE partnership as well as act as the liaison point for both Melbourne and Hong Kong-based academics and administrators of the Mechanical Engineering program.
As a Senior Lecturer you will be responsible for carrying-out teaching, research and administrative activities of relevance to the program. To be successful in this role you will need a PhD in an appropriate field, excellent interpersonal and communications skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively and collegially within a culturally diverse environment.
Skills & Experience Required
You will have demonstrated sound knowledge and extensive expertise in Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, along with an ability to prepare high quality curriculum and course materials at tertiary level for undergraduate and post-graduate programs.
Furthermore you will have experience working effectively and sensitively within a culturally diverse environment, along with a demonstrated ability to generate alternative funding projects and undertake research which will contribute to School research areas.
