IT Services invites applications for a full-time IT Support Technician.
As part of the Service Desk team you will be required to provide first line IT support identifying and solving problems and providing guidance to staff and students in the use of University PC systems and online services.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, the ability to communicate clearly in face-to-face interactions, by telephone and in email and other written documents are essential. An aptitude for learning new skills and the willingness to work as part of a team are fundamental to the role. Experience of working in a customer facing role is essential, as is use of an electronic Helpdesk System. You may be required within other support teams within IT Services as the need arises and to gain experience.    

Applicants should have a good working knowledge of desktop software, operating systems and hardware in common use. You will have A-level qualifications in relevant subjects and NVQ3/HNC qualifications, or equivalent and relevant work experience. The successful candidate will be expected to work fixed hours normally 9.30 to 5.30 but may on occasion, be required 8.00am to 4pm. The post is being offered on a fixed term basis
until April 30th, 2018.
