The Role and Your Responsibilities

The Research Fellow will lead the development of computational design of materials using multi-scale modelling. In conjunction with CSIRO, the team has developed computational design to predict the protective life of inhibited paint films on aircraft as a function of inhibitor, position in aircraft and aircraft flight path. The team has also developed computational design to predict the life of metal components in infrastructure and buildings. The Research Fellow will be required to refine and extend the system for computational design of building components and will be also required to adapt and apply the system to an additional system of interest to the research team and RMIT. The project will be conducted in part with collaborators from CSIRO Manufacturing in Clayton Victoria, and may involve working across RMIT and CSIRO sites.

Skills & Experience Required

In order to adapt and develop the models, you will need to be competent in the modelling techniques across all the scales and will also have strong programming skills, proficiency in software and software platform development. In addition, you will have a proven track record of high quality, first author research publications in high impact, leading journals.To Apply
