Pending budgetary approval, the Department of Religion at Boston University seeks a scholar of religions of the African diaspora (including North/South/Central America and the Caribbean) able to teach courses at the introductory and advanced/graduate levels that contribute to an academic religious studies curriculum. Area of specialization open.
BU's Department of Religion boasts a dynamic, research-active faculty with scholarly and teaching interests in ritual, visual and material culture, gender and sexuality, social theory, and the history of religious traditions.
Rank open to tenured associate and full professors with PhD's in the study of religion or in cognate areas such as African American Studies, American Studies, Ethnic Studies, Anthropology, Ethics, and Literature and the Arts.
