Director in Planning
About the position
This newly created position will be responsible for delivering an effective University-wide planning framework to support the successful implementation of the University’s new 2018-2022 Strategic Plan. They will have a close relationship with the University’s Senior Executives and Managers, and deliver effective analyses and timely advice on key aspects of the University’s business.
Reporting to the Executive Director, People, Planning and Strategy, the Director, Planning will provide leadership for the University’s central data collection, analysis and reporting functions, and be responsible for developing the University’s business intelligence capability. They will oversee the University’s information & planning team and quality assurance functions, including Government reporting, student surveys, reviews and compliance.
About the person:
To be considered for this position, you will possess postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience in the higher education sector. You will have high-level strategic, conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to develop, implement and oversee a comprehensive strategic planning framework.
Experience in building and/or managing organisation-wide business intelligence capabilities and associated reporting and analytical platforms is a requirement, as is the ability to provide regular management information and ad hoc advice to support strategic and operational activities across all areas of the University, including student recruitment, learning and teaching, student lifecycle analysis, research, institutional surveys, and workforce planning.
The successful candidate will have previously succeeded in leading a busy team of analysts, technology specialists and administrators to deliver a diverse range of outcomes within a complex organisational environment.
