James Stewart Chair of Medicine
The James Stewart Chair of Medicine is a key leadership position delivering innovative and distinctive contributions to education, research, clinical medicine and community engagement in the University of Melbourne, Department of Medicine and Radiology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
The James Stewart Chair plays a critical role in fostering excellence through partnerships and collaboration with research and clinical groups. Developing initiatives with the community and industry as well as policy engagement of significant public value will be central to the success of the role.
Embedded within the Royal Melbourne Hospitaland associated institutes and centres that form the Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, the James Stewart Chair will be an eminent authority in a field of medicine. He/she will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work with diverse stakeholders, foster and mentor the learning and careers of others, and lead and drive distinguished research programs that have impact of benefit to society.
The appointee will have clinical responsibilities at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
This is a continuing appointment. An attractive salary package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
