Associate Professor/Chair of Obstetrics and Gynaecology

The opportunity exists for a exceptional individual to provide academic leadership and foster excellence in research, teaching, professional activities and policy development in the academic discipline of Obstetrics and Gynaecology within the School of Medicine and Public Health, the University and the community.
Reporting to the Clinical Dean of the Hunter Clinical School and the Head of the School of Medicine and Public Health, the candidate will be recognised as a leading authority in the discipline of obstetrics and gynaecology. This represents an outstanding opportunity for an accomplished Obstetrics and Gynaecological specialist to lead and build this critical and growing discipline with the School of Medicine and Public Health.
We are seeking a research focused academic who is a strong clinician, possesses natural leadership abilities and can demonstrate a blend of research, teaching and administrative skills. The individual may currently be at Level E (Professor); alternatively they will be at Level D (Associate Professor) and looking to step up to a Level E role.
This position will be based at the John Hunter Hospital; a teaching hospital for the Hunter New England Local Health District and the University of Newcastle, housing one of the busiest general medical units in New South Wales. The successful applicant will be offered a clinical academic appointment at the John Hunter Hospital.
