Job Description

Boston University's Marketing & Communications department is looking for a talented and experienced, Web Content Producer who will work with the Production Manager, and publication editors, designers and content providers across the Marketing & Communications unit to build and publish posts, webpages and multimedia components using WordPress content management system (CMS); maintain and update content on curated webpages; research, source, gather and prepare media assets for upload to the CMS. As a member of Boston University's Marketing & Communications department, you will be an important contributing member of a team responsible for ongoing content management and production needs for three of the University's high visibility editorial websites: BU Today, BU Research, and Bostonia.

Required Skills

B.A. / B.S. with three to five years Content Management experience; proven experience and proficiency working in Content Management Systems (WordPress preferred). Proficiency with writing standards-based HTML, CSS, and markup. Intermediate experience using Adobe Photoshop. Hands-on Search Engine Optimization experience, or working knowledge of SEO best practices. Strong project management skills with proven abilities in tracking long and short range deadlines, and cross-team collaboration and communication. Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills. Must be able to work evenings and weekends and be available for technical assistance during non-business hours. Special Requirements: Available nights and weekends for breaking news, emergency coverage, and troubleshooting with Production Manager and IS&T during website or systems-related technical malfunctions.
