About the Position:
The Faculty of Society & Design is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Technical Officer within the Abedian School of Architecture fabrication facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and a diverse Faculty. The position reports directly to the Fabrication Laboratory Manager and forms part of a team operating within the School of Architecture to provide specialist support to staff and students. The position will provide student training and supervision, wood machining, prototype assembly work, as well as architectural model making. There is a strong focus on digital fabrication and the development of robotics and 3D printing programs.
About the Person:
To be successful in this position, the candidate will have suitable technical qualifications at Certificate IV level or equivalent industry experience, as well as experience operating and maintaining a wood machinery workshop, including CNC routers and laser cutters. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are mandatory, demonstrated by the ability to liaise, consult and present to a diverse range of clients and stakeholders. A strong working knowledge of CAD & CAM software is essential.

The commencing salary for this position is $57,664.98 plus 9.5% superannuation per annum.
