Assistant Financial Accountant (Accounts Receivable)

The Finance Office requires an experienced Assistant Financial Accountant to manage the School’s Accounts Receivable Function, as well as the Cash Office. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that transactions on the Accounts Receivable ledger are accurate and comply with School financial regulations and policies; that bank and cash receipts are identified and recorded on time; and that cash floats and advances are properly administered. The post holder will also be responsible for the operation, monitoring and updating of credit control procedures within the School.

You should be educated to degree level and have AAT level 4 qualification or equivalent. You should have proven experience of being an effective manager within an Accounts Receivable department, including operating a cash office, producing detailed monthly aged debtor reports and providing financial accounting expertise. Excellent communication, numerical and computer skills are also required as is the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. The post holder will manage the three other members of the Accounts Receivable team and must have proven experience of effectively managing a team.
The post is full-time and permanent. The expected start date for this post will be the 1st of November 2017. The salary will be on the Professional Support Pathway Grade 6 scale in the range £38,533 to £43,759 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available.
