The Department of Management, Sport and Tourism is committed to actively engaging with business, policy-makers and the professions in the pursuit of relevant and impactful (social and economic as well as academic) research and, where possible, seeks to effectively engage with the University’s Research Focus Areas (RFAs). In the context of the interplay between the new Learning Focus Areas (LFAs) and the RFAs, the department seeks to further explore cross college and cross disciplinary program innovations.
About the role
In the level A role you will teach, contribute to curriculum develop, and undertake research or other scholarly work relevant to the area. You will prepare and deliver engaging lectures and seminars, conduct workshops, tutorials and labs, contribute to the research culture of the school, facilitate links between industry and the school, and participate in relevant administrative duties.
The level B position will involve the same tasks as the level A role and will also involve the provision of leadership in developing curriculum and teaching. You will keep up to date on relevant innovations, contribute to governance and collegial life and promote and represent the University.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in the level a role you will be confirmed as a PhD candidate in Sport Management and be making satisfactory progress. Proven effectiveness in teaching is essential. You will possess strong communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team. You will be capable of conducting research and making contributions to administrative duties. You will also be able to work well with staff and students from a diverse range of backgrounds.
To be successful in the level B role you will possess the same skills as the level A role and will also have completed your PhD in Sport management. You will be a highly organised individual with a strong record of research publications. You will also be able to supervise Higher Degree by Research students.
