TasTAFE is seeking a transformative Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation into a new era of innovation, industry engagement and agility. The CEO will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of Tasmania’s major government provider of vocational education with a strong emphasis placed on student outcomes and operational excellence. Developing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships will ensure TasTAFE is valued by its communities and is positioned to achieve its strategic goals.

Based in Hobart and reporting to the Board, the CEO will lead the Executive team to deliver on the operational expectations of the organisation. Further, the role will work collaboratively and in partnership with Government, the education sector, Industry and communities to develop a seamless, effective and efficient education system for Tasmania.

The successful candidate will be an inspirational leader, able to position the organisation to succeed in an increasingly competitive era. With experience in VET, Higher Education, Government or related sectors, you will possess a high level of integrity and commitment to TasTAFE’s vision. You will have a proven track record of engaging with and inspiring staff to achieve cultural change, delivering growth in a rapidly changing market and be able to utilise your skills in financial management and stakeholder engagement.

Owned by the Tasmanian government, TasTAFE is the largest vocational education and training provider in Tasmania, delivering over 370 nationally accredited and industry endorsed qualifications to over 30,000 students.

With 12 campuses across the state and servicing the needs of industry and individual VET students, TasTAFE plays a vital role in improving the economic performance of Tasmania, building workforce participation and productivity.
