The Organisation

The Research & Innovation Portfolio oversees research and research training across the University through the development and implementation of RMIT University's strategic research priorities and managing research systems and reporting requirements.

The role and your responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of networking and event plans specifically designed to enhance and showcase RMIT's research capability to both internal and external audiences. Specifically, you will lead the coordination of the annual industry-focused research conference. You will plan and deliver events, seminars and conferences and coordinate networking activities that will assist in building RMIT's research capability and enhancing RMIT's research profile and environment. The incumbent will work closely with the Manager, ECPs to plan and deliver joint projects and assist in delivery of objectives common to both positions.

Skills and experience required

The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in a substantial and complex business environment with the ability to manage multiple, demanding priorities. Your experience in providing high level support to senior management and in managing a client-focussed support team will be critical to success in this role. Furthermore, key to this role will be your expertise in the development, interpretation, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures. Your highly developed interpersonal skill, with the ability to influence, negotiate and promote relationship building is essential.

A tertiary qualification or significant equivalent experience is required.
