Position Description

The Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations seeks to appoint a tenure-track professor in pre-modern Chinese literature. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2018. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Applications from scholars working in Middle Period and Late Imperial Period literature are particularly encouraged, but we welcome applications from scholars working in all periods up to 1900.

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate or terminal degree in pre-modern Chinese literature required by the time the appointment begins.

Additional Qualifications

Demonstrated excellence in teaching is desired.
