Instructor - Adult Education and Training
Description of Work Unit
The School of Education faculty is comprised of educator-scholars whose expertise spans diverse learning contexts and populations. Innovative instruction, diversity/equity/inclusion, technology-enhanced learning, distance education, service learning, professional development school partnerships, and rigorous research are embodied in all of our programs. Our faculty members’ philosophies and areas of expertise, along with the School’s core values, guide our pedagogical and inquiry practices, which are typically both interdisciplinary and applied.
The School of Education seeks applications between July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018, from individuals who are interested in securing temporary instructor positions within the Adult Education and Training program for the 2017-2018 academic year. Instructors teach masters classes on-campus and online in areas of their expertise and are hired periodically for fall, spring, and/or summer term, contingent upon enrollments and need. Reappointment may depend upon performance and the availability of funding. Required Job Qualifications
- Earned masters degree in adult education or a related field
- Experience teaching graduate students via face-to-face and distance technologies
- At least three years of professional work experience in a higher education setting.
Preferred Job Qualifications
- Earned doctorate degree in adult education or a related field
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching, research, and practice
- Record of scholarship and publication in adult education, or a related field
- Experience teaching research methods
- Professional experience working in an adult education or training setting
