The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU, Trondheim), Department of Historical Studies, offers a full-time 3-year postdoc position within the project "Political Regulation of Natural Resources 1870-2010, Global Experiences", funded by the Norwegian Research Council (NFR). The postdoc will work with Professor Pål Thonstad Sandvik. The department also hosts several other research projects which examine different aspects of the international political economy of natural resources. The postdoc will thus be a part of a research team of 12-14 historians.

The project “Political Regulation of Natural Resources 1870-2010, Global Experiences” examines how countries and international bodies have regulated natural resources. The project investigates policy aims and policy achievements as well as capture and distribution of resource rents.

The postdoc will contribute towards the main project by analyzing the development of resource regulation in a country / countries outside Scandinavia.

Applicants should hold a PhD in history or a related field.

The salary for the fellowship is set at Norwegian state salary NOK 490 900 a year (2017).
