About the role
Within this role, the successful applicant will be accountable to the Head of Centre for Work-Based Learning and Professional Programmes for lecturing and module leadership on the GSM London’s level three professional programmes and also the work-based learning BSc Professional Management and MSc Professional Leadership. The key responsibilities of this role, as a lecturer and module leader, will be to support the development and delivery of an outstanding student experience across the Centre’s and GSM London’s programmes. You may be responsible for the day to day operational management of module staffing and resources. This will include curriculum development, module leadership, work-based learning facilitation, delivery of teaching, learning and assessment strategy and the assurance and enhancement of academic standards.
To be successful, you will need to hold a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject, or equivalent professional qualification or experience or hold a good honours degree and an appropriate professional qualification (if from a professional practice background). Subject or industry knowledge and experience in some of the professional programme areas and some understanding of work-based learning, its pedagogy would be highly desirable. You will possess a proven track record in teaching on and leading modules and recent higher education teaching experience in work-based learning. Some experience of lecturing in a professional subject at level three would be helpful but not essential. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the ability to identify and secure development opportunities for the Department, Faculty or College and contribute to change implementation.
