Programme & Communications Assistant 

Salary from £24,760 to £27,831 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £29,942 pa inclusive

This is a fixed term appointment for up to 12 months 

The Department of Economics is one of the largest economics departments in the World, with over 60 faculty and 1100 students.  The Department is seeking a highly committed and motivated Programme & Communications Assistant to work with the Departmental Programmes administrative team and the Communications team.   The post holder will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to deal with people at all levels and strong IT skills.  Previous experience working in a Higher Education setting is essential. 

The post holder will provide professional administrative support to three Programme Managers, the Examinations and Assessment Administrator, two tutors, the Website and Social Media Editor, Moodle editor, Department Managers and academic staff members. 

The elements of the role require a high level of planning and organising your workload and balancing the needs of individuals whilst managing their expectations. Experience and knowledge of working with programme regulations and understanding exam grading/awards is desirable. 

Please note, this is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. Whilst the cover is estimated at 12 months, it may be shortened in the event that the existing post holder returns sooner.
