FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND INFORMATION SCIENCE

The Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences is a research intensive Faculty with extensive teaching operations in Australia, Asia and the Middle East. It has approx. 5000 undergraduate & postgraduate students onshore and offshore, and over 350 academic/research/professional staff. The School of Mechanical, Materials, Mechatronic and Biomedical Engineering, which is one of the top 10 Engineering Schools in Australia, is committed to research and teaching excellence through its world-class undergraduate and postgraduate programs and extensive R&D in a range of exciting technological areas.

The position will assist in the implementation of mechatronics, automation, electromechanical and electromagnetic research that is strongly engaged with commercial contract work. Projects are also commissioned through the Defence Materials Technology Centre (DMTC), Rail Manufacturing and other CRC’s and companies seeking assistance from Faculty’s Facility for Intelligent Fabrication (FIF). This position will provide additional capability to handle the continual increase in this work. 

If successful in this position you will be required to excel in a broad range of engineering disciplines, such as automation and robotic engineering, electromechanical and electromagnetic engineering, FEA, superconducting and power engineering, including teaching and post-graduate supervision.
