The Institute for Land, Water and Society is an accredited Centre of Research Excellence within Charles Sturt University, Australia's national university of inland Australia. A leading research institute, it comprises over 200 social, economic and environmental scientists who are making important contributions to regional sustainability. The Institute’s aim is "to undertake internationally recognised and integrated research in social and environmental sustainability to enhance the livelihoods and lifestyles of people in rural and regional areas”.
The Technical Officer (Edward-Wakool Environmental Flows Project) will join a team of researchers from Charles Sturt University and several partner organisations and contribute to a large multidisciplinary project focused on the evaluation of hydrological, water quality, vegetation and fish responses to environmental flows in the Edward Wakool river system, funded by the Commonwealth Environmental Water Office.
We are seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic person who has field experience and practical skills to undertake fieldwork, laboratory work and provide other general support for this project. The Technical Officer will work closely with staff from a number of partner organisations, particularly staff of the New South Wales Department of Primary Industries (Fisheries).
