Staff in the Office for Students work collaboratively with Faculties and Divisions to enhance students’ University experience. The Access team engage with students with disability to enable their participation in all aspects of the university experience without disadvantage, by facilitating Reasonable Adjustments to learning materials and tasks, as well as in other academic and social areas. Operating within CSU as a multi-campus university, with a dispersed and diverse enrollment, the Team Leader (Access) will advocate for and model services that are student-centred, inclusive and holistic
Working with the Manager Access and Wellbeing, the Team Leader (Access) is responsible for strategic and operational leadership of Student Liaison Officers (Disability and Assistive Technology,) with oversight of work processes, workflow, and responsiveness to needs of Students with Disability. Leadership extends to clinical and service expertise reflecting qualifications and experience, and is available for consultation with team members and broadly across Faculties and Divisions of the University.
The Team Leader may have input on complex cases and directly assist in facilitating practical solutions, as well as managing a fractional caseload. The position will also have input to planning and development for the team, within the frameworks of the Inclusion Directorate and Office for Students, with a focus on developing effective processes, strategic communication with stakeholders, and evaluation and reporting. Developing and maintaining data management systems will be an essential requirement of the latter.
