The Department of Economics and Finance is committed to actively engaging with business, policy-makers and the professions in the pursuit of relevant and impactful (social and economic as well as academic) research and, where possible, seeks to effectively engage with the University’s Research Focus Areas (RFAs). In the context of the interplay between the new Learning Focus Areas (LFAs) and the RFAs, the Department seeks to further explore cross College/cross disciplinary program innovations.
About the role
In this role you will develop high quality innovative curriculum, deliver engaging teaching through a variety of methods and undertake relevant research or other scholarly work. You will demonstrate a scholarly approach to learning and teaching while keeping up to date on relevant innovations including those in blended learning. Participate in innovative course level curriculum design, development and review. Coordinate large introductory core and other subjects and contribute to coordination activities. Continue to develop your knowledge and skills and perform relevant administrative duties. You will also contribute to the building of relationships both locally and nationally.
Skills & Experience
To succeed in this role you will have completed or have substantial completion of a PhD in Finance or another related area, or possess a Masters degree with extensive professional experience or professional registration or the equivalent.
You will possess a range of skills and experience including, but not limited to:
- Demonstrated effectiveness in curriculum development and teaching in Finance, with a commitment to excellence in teaching and student learning;
- Capacity to engage with innovations in cross-campus teaching;
- Observed performance, or potential capacity, in delivering high quality research outcomes, including publications in leading scholarly journals and generation of research income;
- Evidence of capacity to make effective contributions to the Finance discipline, and administration at the Department and School level.
