  • Enhance the quality of scholarship and research within Kurongkurl Katitjin by strengthening Indigenous Australian cultural perspectives and knowledge to teaching and research programmes and enhancing the potential community impact of those activities;
  • Take a lead role in the Centre’s activities and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and communities to improve teaching and research program content and delivery.

Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Academic to make a significant difference to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at ECU, and the broader Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, through research and teaching.

The Role

The focus of this role is to coordinate and enhance Kurongkurl Katitjin’s teaching and learning program. Your experience and understanding will enable you to identify, create and develop teaching and learning curricula and materials appropriate to all Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples studying at ECU. Your significant research track record, including collaborative work with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in an area directly relevant to those involved, will enhance, and be enhanced by, further collaborative work with Researchers across ECU and nationally.

You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry and Personal Excellence. ECU is a smoke-free environment.

Benefits & Remuneration

This position attracts remuneration of $117,573 pa - $135,570 pa plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
