Responsible to the Dean College of Engineering, Science & Technology through Head of School/Head of Department, or the program coordinator. The appointee will be required to teach Molecular Biology & Biotechnology and any other Biology units at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and carry out research and consultancy activities in the areas relevant to the needs of the region. Apart from teaching other activities include regular review of units and programmes, upgrade of equipment and resources, development of new programmes and mentoring of junior staffs and students, particularly local staff so that they may take-over from expatriate staff. Other activities include tutoring, lecturing, and exam paper preparation & marking, result preparations etc. are to be implemented according to policies and procedures of the Fiji National University.


PHD in relevant discipline with either a formal tertiary teaching qualification or significant (normally 10 years) tertiary teaching experience. 

A Professor will have the same skill base as an Associate Professor but will be recognized as a leading authority in the relevant discipline area.


An attractive salary commensurate with qualifications and abilities would be negotiated with the successful applicant.
