The Project Manager will oversee and coordinate the technical work performed by the sector specific consultants, ensuring that the quality and scope of such work leads to effective and innovative policy recommendations to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions in Boston. The position will oversee the development of an analytical tool that integrates sector specific results into a coherent, overall description of mitigation options; those results must be able to be communicated to non-technical audiences. This is a full-time, one-year position, with extension possible but dependent on funding.
Masters degree or equivalent in a related field (e.g. energy/environmental sciences, energy/environmental policy, climate policy, sustainability). Two to three years experience in professional-level evaluative, analytical, and planning work related to energy and climate policy development. Demonstrated knowledge and experience related to climate change, renewable, and fossil fuel energy policy/technologies. Experience with energy system analysis including, for example, bottom-up modeling or similar (spreadsheet based) modeling. Proficient knowledge of quantitative data handling and analysis related to energy use and greenhouse gas emissions. Experience in energy or natural resource related research, climate modeling, technical and policy analysis, program design, and program evaluation in the public or private sector. Experience leading multiple stakeholders with diverse interests, finding ways to encourage people to share knowledge, leverage strengths, and use sophisticated collaboration, communication, and coordination techniques.
