About the job
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading a technical team in the provision of authoritative advice and management of the dry science, laser and nanomaterial facilities in the faculty. You will work closely with academic and research staff on a day-to-day basis to ensure all spaces under their management meet the research needs of the individuals, ensuring a seamless provision of support to all areas. Essential to this role is the overall compliance, training and management of safety management systems and adherence to meeting Australian Safety Standards.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- An MSc or PhD degree qualification in physics, photonics, or materials science is highly preferable with related experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of laboratory management, laboratory safety protocol, laser safety, photonics and clean rooms
- Ability to lead high performing teams and communicate effectively in a team environment.
