The Finance Team provides a wide range of financial and management services to Macquarie University staff and students. These services include: University purchasing function; financial management Information Systems; budget process; providing a wide range of financial and management reporting; recording the major assets of the University; receiving and accounting for income to the University; managing the University debtor's system; managing student loans; and supporting the University research function.
Reporting to the Group Accounting Manager, the Financial Accountant role is responsible for the effective governance and control over a broad range of functions including treasury, fixed assets, intercompany and financial accounting.

- Bachelor Degree (major in Accounting) or equivalent
- ACA/CPA or international equivalent qualified or substantial progress towards CPA (or equivalent) qualification.
- Accounting or auditing background within large and complex organization
- Experience in a similar role within a large and complex organization with complex accounting and reporting requirements
- High level of verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, including their interpretation and application
- Advanced excel skills, with experience of analysing, manipulating and summarising large volumes of data in a robust and controlled manner

Salary Package: From $87,699 – $95,084 per annum (HEW Level 7) plus 9.5% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
