About the opportunity 

The Chair of Commercialisation is a new role to facilitate commercialisation development across the new Faculty of Medicine and Health including the schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Health Sciences, and Nursing & Midwifery. Providing academic leadership, the Chair is responsible for identifying and fostering medical and health research, technology and expertise suitable for commercial development.

The Chair of Commercialisation is responsible for building an entrepreneurial culture within the new Faculty of Medicine and Health and providing mentorship and guidance to researchers through the commercialisation process toward optimal translation and commercialisation of the University’s research, technology and expertise. The Chair is also responsible for promoting and facilitating linkages between researchers and industry.

You will work collaboratively with the Faculty Executive Dean, Heads of School and Deans, Faculty research executive groups, the University’s Commercial Development and Industry Partnerships (CDIP) office, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research - Enterprise & Engagement), as well as Faculty-embedded Business Development Manager/s within the new Faculty of Medicine and Health.

Term and remuneration

The position is offered for a term of five years and may be taken up either full-time or fractional, as negotiated with the successful candidate.
