The Student Recruitment and Admissions Directorate is responsible for a range of recruitment activity. Through our activities we aim to build effective relationships with schools and colleges to encourage students to progress to HE and Staffordshire University in particular. Our work targets schools and colleges across the midlands and beyond. We deliver a range of activities and events designed to raise awareness of the opportunities that Staffordshire University has to offer in keeping with the University’s ongoing commitment to widening participation and fair access.
An opportunity has arisen within the Directorate for an Education Liaison Manager (fixed term maternity cover) from September 2017 to August 2018. The role will have responsibility for the delivery of the University’s Fair Access Programmes as well as a programme of outreach events and progression activities both on and off campus. You will be expected to acquire a thorough knowledge of our undergraduate programmes and be able to communicate the opportunities offered by the University, as well as an understanding of the factors affecting students’ progression decisions. You will be required to communicate with a range of audiences and in a variety of different activity formats. A good awareness of key issues in the HE, Secondary, and FE sectors will be necessary.
Educated to degree level, you will demonstrate the ability to manage a range of different projects, prioritising and managing your own time and that of your team effectively. You will often be in contact with prospective students, parents, and teachers and will therefore need to have a good knowledge of the issues surrounding progression to HE, a comprehensive knowledge of undergraduate provision at Staffordshire, excellent communication skills and be friendly, professional and customer-focused.
