Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry
The Department of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterials Sciences at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine is seeking applications for salaried part-time faculty positions in Restorative Dentistry at the lecturer level. These part-time positions are allocated at 1.5 days/per week with at least a 90% time commitment as follows:
- Clinical teaching: participation in up to three DMD clinical sessions with direct clinical supervision per week. These are half-day sessions.
- Didactic teaching: participation in didactic courses offered in the DMD Curriculums. This participation will include teaching didactic classes and supervising lab sessions in the HSDM preclinical learning center (PCLC).
The Department includes the specialties of Prosthodontics, Operative Dentistry, Implant Dentistry, and Endodontics and offers a unique interdisciplinary environment for teaching, research, and clinical activity. The successful candidates will be expected to teach in the DMD programs and minimally participate in scholarly activities. Based on the applicants’ qualifications and the departmental needs, participation in the Advanced Graduate Education Programs may be considered.
Candidates must possess a DMD or DDS degree from an accredited dental school and be eligible for dental licensure in Massachusetts. Must possess DEA certificate, a Mass Controlled Substance certificate, and professional liability insurance.
Experience in classroom and clinical instruction in operative dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics, implant dentistry, and/or related areas is strongly preferred. Experience in an educational setting, managerial experience in a group practice setting, computer literacy, and experience with computerized clinic management systems. Good interpersonal and organizational skills, and excellent personnel management skills.
