Research Assistant/Research Dietitian in Health Sciences and Medicine
About the position
In 2016, the Cancer Council awarded Bond University a project grant for the “Supplemental Prophylactic Intervention for Chemotherapy-induced Nausea and Emesis (SPICE) trial”, to be implemented at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane. This study will substantially advance knowledge in the field and provide data for recommendations to patients and health professionals by investigating a range of clinically important outcomes.
Under direct supervision of senior research staff at Bond University, the purpose of this position is to implement the SPICE trial, including participant eligibility screening, recruitment, implementation of the intervention, conducting outcome assessments and data management. This role will build research and nutrition assessment skills in the applicant, but does not involve a clinical load.
About the person:
The successful applicant will be an Accredited Practising Dietitian (Provisional APD’s welcome to apply), with experience in conducting nutrition and dietetics research and an understanding of ethical requirements in a research environment.
The ability to work independently with limited supervision is essential, as is meticulous attention to detail. Experience working with patients with acute illnesses, preferably in oncology is desirable.
