The role and your responsibilities
The Academic Services Officer (VE programs) is responsible for providing efficient and effective student and academic services to support the student life cycle. The incumbent operates within a team and will be assigned specific programs and or sector (HE or VE) responsibilities to be determined through the annual work planning process. The role has a strong customer service orientation and is expected to work closely with academic and professional staff in the School. The incumbent will also be an active participant in School service improvement initiatives.
Skills and experience required
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in working accurately with detailed information and providing high-level administrative support in a university environment or similar large and complex organisation. Your expertise in the provision of quality customer service, including sound knowledge and consistent application of relevant University policy and procedures and the ability to provide advice will be critical to success in this role. Furthermore, key to this role will be your well-developed interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to take the initiative in identifying and pursuing opportunities to improve existing practices and services. Your ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with a wide range of groups will be essential.
A tertiary qualification and/or equivalent combination of knowledge, experience and education/training is required. The position may be required to work outside normal business hours from time to time. Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children check.
