Applications are invited for the post of Post-doctoral Research Fellow, Level I, to work on projects associated with social gerontology and aged care. The position offers an exciting opportunity for a doctorally-prepared individual to work with the School’s social gerontology and aged care research group. The successful candidate will be affiliated with the UCD National Centre for the Protection of Older People (NCPOP) at UCD.
The successful candidate will support the Professor of Nursing in his role as Director of the National Centre for the Protection of Older People, and the work will focus on developing grant proposals and publishing and disseminating the work of the NCPOP. The programme of research at NCPOP is a key element in the School Strategy 2015-2020. The role will also involve supporting the Professor of Nursing's research agenda in the field of nursing policy and planning.
This is a research focused role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training and development under the supervision and direction of Professor Gerard Fealy. The primary purpose of the role is to develop new or advanced research skills and competences in the processes of peer-reviewed academic publications and scholarly dissemination, the development of funding proposals, and the supervision and mentorship of graduate students, along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research-led teaching. The post will be offered for a period of 1 year, on a fixed term, full-time contract; however, part-time will also be considered. The Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 will be based at the Research Unit of the UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems.
Salary: €34,975 - €38,750 per annum pro rata
Appointment on the above range will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
