Job Outline           

The Employment Support Officer is responsible for providing professional advice and high quality service to staff relating to their employment at UNNC. The role holder will support the manager in optimising service processes, monitoring and evaluating operational risks, improving staff employment experience, exploring and facilitating talent projects, developing and maintaining good relationship with internal and external departments for better employment support service.



  • University degree in HR, Business, Law, Marketing, Communication, English or other related discipline;
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English;
  • Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office) and in depth knowledge of data processing and analysis;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to build effective relationships with people at all levels;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Relevant knowledge in HR function;
  • At least 3 years relevant work experience in Employment or relevant function;
  • Familiar with HR related laws, e.g. labor law, labor contract law, etc.;
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks toward deadlines;
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team;
  • Accurate and attentive to detail;
  • Highly organised and methodical;
  • Responsible and trustworthy;
  • A high level of self-motivation and service minded;
  • A desire to work in Higher Education sector;
  • Strong interest in HR area.


  • Overseas study experience;
  • Master degree in HR, Business, Law, Marketing, Communication, English or other related discipline is preferred;
  • Data analysis and data mining skills;
  • Experience of working in an international setting and/or education organization;
  • HR work experience in visa and benefits function;
  • Knowledge and experience of using HRM system, e.g. PeopleSoft.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide professional advice and services to staff on employment related matters, e.g. visa, flight booking, relocation, accommodation, schooling, insurances, talent projects, exit procedures and etc., deal with staff enquiries in a professional manner;
  • Manage and maintain employment related records and associated charges/claims/payments;
  • Review, develop and implement employment related policies and procedures;
  • Establish and develop partnerships with external service providers, e.g. booking agencies, insurance brokers/providers, relocation service companies, leasing agencies international schools and etc., for better employment support services; Regularly review and evaluate the quality of the services provided by these partners;
  • Develop and maintain good relationship with government departments and other organisations to gather knowledge of best practice, keep updates of new regulations, facilitate visa/talent projects application processes and etc.;
  • Liaise and coordinate work activities across the team and with external colleagues/ departments as appropriate;
  • Work with government departments and external partners for the organising of information sessions to staff on regular basis;
  • Assist the Manager in the development and implementation of employment related strategy and projects;
  • Conduct data analysis and prepare reports for management review;
  • Support other HR teams where necessary;
  • Participate in training and staff development events as trainer or trainee as appropriate;
  • Maintain appropriate professional development, expertise and awareness;
  • Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required;
  • Regularly measure staff satisfaction of the service delivery and minimise complaints within a lowest level;
  • Keep up to date knowledge of relevant government laws, regulations and policies;
  • Provide support to the implementation and maintenance of HRMS;
