Salary: $98,775 - $117,290 p.a. plus 17% superannuation

The discipline of Political Science in the School of Social and Political Sciences teaches a broad suite of undergraduate and postgraduate subjects and courses. It has a strong research higher degree culture, and an internationally-recognised research profile. The discipline has particular strength in International Relations, especially at the postgraduate coursework level in the highly successful Master of International Relations. The School now seeks a Lecturer to further develop the discipline’s teaching and research programs in International Relations.

The Lecturer in International Relations will be a committed, engaging teacher and researcher and must be able to teach at the undergraduate and postgraduate level and in another major area of the discipline. The Lecturer will be expected to make a significant contribution to the research reputation of the discipline of Political Science in the School of Social and Political Sciences. The Lecturer will supervise honours and postgraduate coursework theses and participate in supervisory panels at the research higher degree level.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and will assist in the development of new subjects as appropriate; supervision of RHD students is also a requirement. The incumbent will also undertake research resulting in publications with leading publishers in the field, foster engagement links with external networks/partners nationally and internationally and will take on administrative tasks associated with the appointment.

Please note that shortlisted candidates will be invited to the University to participate in a formal panel interview as well as meet with current staff and present a seminar relating to any aspect of their research profile.
