The Role & Your Responsibilities

The Senior Lecturer is expected to make a significant contribution to the teaching and research efforts in the Mechanical and Automotive Engineering discipline, focusing on mechanical engineering design and management and life cycling (including engineering product design and engineering systems design) with EWB (Engineering Without Borders) knowledge and expertise. The incumbent will be expected to participate in the academic activities of the School and the College, and to pursue a program of professional development consistent with the strategic goals of the School. This is a senior academic position, within the Discipline of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, and the appointee is expected to undertake high quality teaching, research and industry engagement in the designated field both nationally and internationally.

The position may involve offshore teaching, and program management.

Skills & Experience Required

The successful candidate will possess a proven record of academic and/or professional achievement in Mechanical Engineering, especially in the field of mechanical engineering design and management (including engineering product design and life cycling systems analysis) with EWB (Engineering Without Borders) knowledge and expertise. They will also have a proven ability to undertake high quality research in the designated field resulting in high quality journal articles in recognized international journals. Furthermore, they will have the ability to prepare and win competitive research grants and/or research contracts and will be familiar with the grant proposal submission process in Australia. A high level of interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment will be imperative to their success in the role.
