Based in the world leading research team in the Bristol Interaction Group within the Department of Computer Science at the University of Bristol this is an exciting opportunity to join an interdisciplinary team developing tangible user interfaces for young and older people in care settings to promote their well-being.

You will re-design and develop, user test, and explore routes to market for trove, a product for children in care/adopted children to self-curate an interactive narrated keepsake box. We will follow a user centered design methodology to re-develop and re-configure the current prototype box, addressing key issues of scalability, reliability, maintainability and security.

You will also work with the Tangible Memories team to continue to develop innovative tangible prototype interfaces for older people in residential care settings and day centres to help with memory.

Applicants will need to have completed a PhD in Computer Science (or closely related discipline) and have good experience of user centered design, development and programming, as well as an interest in creating interfaces for young and older users.

This post is offered on a full time, open ended contract with funding up to 14 months.
