The Marketing and Communications Unit, part of the Vice-Chancellor’s Division:

Engages across the University and plays a critical role in supporting the University NeW Futures strategy. Key activities of the Unit focus on a strong marketing and communications strategy, differentiated branding, a 'lifecycle' approach to marketing, and creating value throughout the student lifecycle. The Unit is responsible for domestic and international marketing strategy and operations, marketing intelligence, brand, communications, student recruitment and web and has oversight of the university's radio station (2NURFM).  Combining rigorous business intelligence with an in-depth understanding of brand strategy to develop and drive the University’s brand, messaging and position, the Unit delivers consistent, imaginative, integrated content delivered across multiple platforms, positioning UON as a university of choice and a home of world-class research and innovation.

The Role: Chief Marketing Officer

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding marketing and communications professional with experience of working in a complex organisation.It will provide vision and leadership to a large, centralised team of marketing and communications specialists. The University has recently launched a compelling new brand campaign and is now seeking an individual who can use their rigorous analytical understanding of the University’s markets and their world-class creativity to attract prospective students both locally and globally. The role requires an experienced marketing and communications strategist with the energy and vision to provide transformational and innovative leadership and with a proven capacity to successfully champion and manage change in a complex stakeholder environment. Highly collegial, engaging and resilient, the successful candidate will hold a postgraduate qualification in marketing or a relevant discipline.
