Join a unique British University in China. The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) was the first Sino-foreign university to open its doors in China. This award winning campus offering a UK style education has grown to establish a student body of over 7,000 in just 12 years.
The successful candidate will be expected to further enhance the research impact of Faculty of Business and develop a research group around a key strategic area in entrepreneurship and innovation. UNNC is setting up an incubator Faculty of Business in a provides training and support to potential entrepreneurs to commercialize and market novel products and services and support the scaling up of start-ups. Research could center around some of challenges that entrepreneurs face and the factors driving entrepreneurial success, including the role of intermediaries, networks, financial institutions, technology transfer and knowledge institutes. Further potential areas (not exhaustive) include sustainable entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurs, and institutional entrepreneurship. Research around innovation can focus on understanding the factors that drive incremental and disruptive innovation in firms and regional economies, or can focus on leadership and (change) management for creativity and innovation. Further potential areas (not exhaustive) include finance for innovation and entrepreneurship, business model innovation, sustainability-oriented innovation, and the balancing of exploitative and explorative innovation in emerging markets firms and economies.
Salary is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications. In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments.
The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of up to five years starting 1 July 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
