Position overview

The Computer Systems Group at ANU is a world leader in studying the performance and trustworthiness of software systems. The group comprises faculty, researchers, doctoral students, and other students, and collaborates internationally. We work closely with Australia’s national cyber security agencies.

The Group invites applicants to join its expansion of research to address problems of vulnerability discovery and mitigation at industrial scale, driven by national security priorities. This includes application and development of novel techniques in static and dynamic binary analysis, fuzzing, reverse engineering, debugging, symbolic and concrete execution, and abstract interpretation.  Our goals include developing new methods in grammar inference applicable to fuzzing to support vulnerability discovery at scale.

We seek a post-doctoral researcher with a strong profile and experience in programming languages and/or software tools, applicable to cyber security. The applicant will be expected to have a leadership role within the group, including supervision of doctoral students and research staff, as well as producing novel research in vulnerability discovery and mitigation publishable in the highest impact venues.
