Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning

Salary: $219,555 per annum including 17% employer superannuation contributions

The University is seeking Chairs in Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture and Construction to join the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning and its Graduate School, the Melbourne School of Design.

The Faculty is amongst the top twenty in the world in the built environment and home to a vibrant community of staff and students working across the fields of Architecture, Construction, Landscape Architecture, Property, Urban and Cultural Heritage, Urban Design and Urban Planning. It has an alumni community of 13,000 graduates from more than 60 countries and is now located in its captivating new building designed by John Wardle and Nader Tehrani.

The Chair in Construction will provide outstanding leadership and vision within the field of construction studies as they relate to buildings and cities. The appointee will be a distinguished and well-respected academic or industry professional with a strong academic track record. The Chair will contribute to redefining the construction program within the Bachelor of Design, as well as refreshing graduate programs to offer a new program which captures and explores the nexus between design principles, construction and innovation. A key contribution of the Chair will be to influence and stimulate public debate and policy through engagement with local and international professional communities and furthering links with government, industry and the profession. The Chair will be collaborative in style with a demonstrated history of successfully supervising and mentoring early and mid-career academics.
