Duke Kunshan University

Applicants are invited to apply to the Duke Kunshan University Talent Fund for Postdoctoral Fellowships. This postdoctoral position is in the area of medical physics. The contract length is two years.

Duke Kunshan University (DKU) is located in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, China. It is a joint venture by Wuhan University, Wuhan China; Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, USA; and the city of Kunshan. The Medical Physics Graduate Program at DKU is modeled after, and works in close collaboration with, Duke University’s top-ranked medical physics graduate program. DKU offers a two-year curriculum for earning a Master of Science in Medical Physics (MSc-MP). The curriculum is taught in English, with three semesters of study at DKU, and one semester and one summer in Durham, North Carolina, U.S.A., studying at Duke University, which is one of the world’s most highly regarded universities.

The postdoctoral position primarily involves medical physics research in the development of advanced functional, molecular, and anatomical imaging technologies and their potential clinical applications. Most of the work will be at DKU in Kunshan, China, with some time at Duke University in Durham NC, USA. The postdoctoral fellow will be working within a strong research network that includes the medical physics graduate programs at DKU and Duke University as well as collaborating researchers and laboratories in China.

There may also be opportunity for teaching. The Medical Physics Graduate Program at DKU prepares its graduates for challenging careers as medical physicists, while also providing a pathway to apply for continued study at the Ph.D. level for those interested in academic or research appointments. Students study three major tracks of Medical Physics:  Radiation Therapy, Diagnostic Imaging, and Nuclear Medicine, with the choice of concentrating on one track or training more broadly across primary and secondary tracks. Equipped with an exceptional education and an advanced degree from Duke University, graduates from MSc-MP will be among their nation’s elite at the forefront of applied physics in industry, hospital clinics, universities, and government facilities.

The successful candidate for the Medical Physics Post-doctoral Fellow Position will hold a PhD in physics, biomedical engineering, or related fields with strong physical sciences and computational background. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to develop his/her professional career at Duke Kunshan University. DKU offers competitive wages and an excellent benefits package. DKU is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.  Application Process: submit cover letter and CV to DKUrecruitment@dku.edu.cn or to james.bowsher@duke.edu.
