The Role and Your Responsibilities
The role of the Senior Advisor, Learning and Teaching is to provide leadership, liaison and support for contemporary tertiary learning and teaching at the DSC College level and for an allocated client group (School within the College).
The Senior Advisor, Learning and Teaching is expected to provide high level leadership and assistance in support of initiatives to improve the quality of HE and VE program development, curriculum and assessment design and learning and teaching practices, including the use of new technologies. The position also includes involvement and focus on program development work within a particular sector (HE or VE) given the different regulatory and documentation requirements. In addition, the incumbent is expected to maintain a program of personal scholarship that enriches the School and College's ability to implement the L&T strategy.
This role is central to the College of Design and Social Context's endeavour to achieve high quality learning and teaching outcomes consistent with trends in international educational contexts in order to meet the needs of all stakeholders, including the University, enterprises, industry, community and students.
Skills & Experience Required
You will have expertise in Higher Education/Vocational Education curriculum design, development and assessment approaches for face-to-face, blended and distance modes, based on contemporary educational research and theory. You will also have demonstrated experience in designing, implementing and leading educational projects, with a particular emphasis on the use of digital learning and educational technology to support student learning. Furthermore, highly-developed interpersonal and communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to forge collaborative relationships across organisational boundaries and to connect and work with diverse teaching and academic staff to maintain positive, productive relationships that influence improvements in learning and teaching quality will be essential to your success in this role.
