The Institute of Vocational Education and Vocational Didactics at the Faculty of Education seeks to appoint an outstanding candidate to the

Junior Professorship (W1) in Nutrition and Home Economics and Vocational Didactics (with tenure track)

as soon as possible. The Junior Professorship will be offered as a three year contract. Provided that her or his performance will be evaluated positively, employment may be extended to a total of 6 years. Furthermore, within an option for tenure track permanent employment as a W2 professor is possible without further advertisement according to § 59 par. 2 SächsHSFG. This will be decided after five years at the latest.

The applicant’s research and teaching must be dedicated to the analysis of nutrition and home economics as well as to their corresponding field of vocational education and vocational didactics. The tasks of the successful candidate include the coordination and organisation of the degree programme „Höheres Lehramt an berufsbildenden Schulen“ in the vocational field of nutrition and home economics. Interdisciplinary cooperation with the Centre for Teacher Education and Educational Research as well as with other vocational fields and the genuine enhancement of the didactics of the vocational field is required. Initially, the candidate will be required to teach 4 academic hours a week.

Wide knowledge and scientific experience especially in the fields of socio economics, social ecology and nutrition science is expected.

Applicants must fulfil the employment qualification requirements of § 63 of the Act Governing Academic Freedom in Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (Saxon Academic Freedom in Higher Education Act – SächsHSFG).
