The Role and Responsibilities

The Senior Research Fellow will be located within a School environment and work with research teams and partnerships in the School of Science. This position will contribute to the research work in the Laboratory of Artificial-Intelligence Nanophotonics Laboratory (LAIN). This project in the LAIN aims to establish a highly efficient customised thin-film solar module system and integrate it into buildings. This position will work within a team of researchers focused on innovative solar technologies for sustainable building sectors with huge energy consumption reduction.

The Senior Research Fellow will design, develop and characterise novel nanomaterials (metallic and dielectric) and two-dimensional materials integrated into thin film nanostructured solar cells.

Skills & Experience Required

To be eligible to apply, candidates must have a PhD in physics or chemistry, solar photovoltaic, material science, or have qualifications and experience equivalent to this.

Candidates should have demonstrated expert knowledge in advanced metallic nanomaterial and two dimensional material synthesis and characterization, and demonstrated expert knowledge in solar photovoltaic, semiconductors and experience in design, fabrication and characterisation of large scale solar modules.
