We are looking to appoint an outstanding and ambitious individual as Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology to join one of the most exciting and innovative universities in the country.

Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, the Dean of Engineering and Technology will join this exciting and diverse School building on the successes achieved to date. You will be ambitious, well networked as well as having a strong research background balanced with previous management and leadership experience at a senior level. You will share our values, recognise that people are at the heart of what we do and be willing to role model and encourage collaborative working.

The role of the Dean of School embraces academic management and leadership, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning, research, knowledge transfer, scholarship and student experience within the subject(s) or discipline(s) for which the School is responsible. An important role of the Dean is to take forward the People agenda across the SBU developing a culture that embraces the University values.

The postholder will need to be educated to a Doctorate level; academic credibility in one or more discipline areas within the School including a track record of impactful high quality research supported by well-established networks. The person will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the key strategic goals of the University.
