Assistant Professor in Health Promotion
The appointee will report to the Head of School of Public Health & Primary Care, College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Science through the FNU’s reporting structure and be required to teach in the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, providing leadership in the development of Public Health research and administrative matters. Also the appointee will be responsible for teaching and day to day supervision of students. Duties include carrying out research and consultancy activities in the areas relevant to the needs of the region, activities related to teaching such as regular review of units and programmes, upgrade of equipment and resources, development of new programmes and mentoring of junior staff and students. Activities associated with tutorials, lecturing, exam paper preparation & marking are to be implemented according to policies and procedures. Appointee will also be required to undertake other administrative duties as directed by Head of the School.
A PhD qualification in the areas of Health Promotion is relevant. A Masters of Public Health OR Masters of Health & Psychology OR any related Health Master’s degree with high result oriented performance in the area of Health Promotion with at least with 8 -10 years engagement in the same field. Demonstrated curriculum development experience, and research/publication, and/or consultancy experience, in the relevant field is essential. The applicant shall have work experience in either a health system or academic.
